Day Trip

Take off from Athens and enjoy an exclusive private tour of Mykonos

Your tour guide will be waiting for you at the hotel lobby to meet you and set off on this full day excursion to Mykonos. We will drive to the airport and fly to Mykonos. It is about forty minutes flying time from Athens to Mykonos.

Mykonos has one of the most beautiful ports, lovely beaches and picturesque white-painted villages. Totally whitewashed organic cube-like buildings fit closely together to form a kind of labyrinth of narrow alleyways and streets. Its many well-preserved windmills and tiny red-roofed churches add a flavour of culture and tradition to the scene, enhanced even further by many museums and the historical ancient site of Delos. It’s no wonder that Mykonos has been often called 'the jewel' of the Aegean Sea and a summer holiday meeting point for the jet setters worldwide.

Mykonos is considered the most cosmopolitan of the Greek islands known as the playground of rich and famous.

Upon arrival to the island we will transfer to the town area. It is a short drive and our tour expert will take us on a lovely orientation walk. We will take a lovely walk through Mykonos town, also known as 'Hora' with the narrow cobbled streets and the exclusive boutiques, elegant nightclubs and white–washed houses until reaching Alefkandra. Alefkandra is a charming corner of Hora, known also as the 'Venice' of Mykonos. The houses are built on the sea, with wooden balconies that are similar to Venice. We can enjoy a coffee at this beautiful corner of the island before setting off to the beach.

After our visit to the town of Mykonos, we will drive to Psarrou, one of the most famous beaches of the island. Its pristine clear waters are famous worldwide. You can swim on the clear blue waters or enjoy the sea sports. (as this is a private tour discuss with your guide your beach preferences as the beaches in Mykonos offer a very diverse experience – Psarrou is one option, but there are many others.)

We will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch we will be transferred to the Mykonos Airport for our flight back to Athens. Upon arrival in Athens our car will be waiting for us for our transfer back to the hotel.

Frequently asked Questions about the day trip to Mykonos
Q This is quite costly. Why?
AThe one day trip to islands of the Aegean entail a flight to and from the island. Depending on the seasonality flights are obviously the costliest part of this great excursion.
Q Why take a flight and not the boat?
A Taking a boat from Athens to the Mykonos is approximately a 5 hour journey, so it would not be possible to operate a one day tour without a flight.
Q Any alternatives?
A If you want to experience the Cycladic islands obviously you need to go to the actual island. Alternatively as a more budget oriented idea there is the one day cruise to three islands of the Saronic. The one day cruise will give you a ‘feel’ of the Greek islands, obviously much cheaper. See more

This tour is operated every day throughout the year. As we are taking a flight to Mykonos final reconfirmation is done when we receive your request.

Departure Time

In order for the trip to Mykonos to be operated in a single day we need to catch the first flight out from Athens and return on the last flight from the island. In general flights out are at about 07:30 and return on at about 17:00. Exact times will be advised at time of booking.
